STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. THE SCRIPTURES

We believe the original manuscripts of the scriptures were verbally inspired by God, and God has preserved forever His inerrant word for all nations through God-guided translators. We believe that the King James Translation of the Bible is God's preserved Word for English speaking people. . (2 Tim. 3:16; Ps. 12: 6-7)

2. THE TRUE GOD

We believe in one God, eternally existing as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7, John 10:30; Matthew 28:19)

3. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

We believe that the Lord Jesus was sent from Heaven by God the Father (1 John 4:9); was conceived in the womb of the Virgin Mary by God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:20); and was born into this world as God in a human body, being fully man and fully God (I Timothy 3:16; Matthew 1:23). We believe that the Lord Jesus knew no sin (2 Corinthians 5:21) and was made the perfect, eternal blood sacrifice for our sins (Eph. 1:7). We believe He had a bodily resurrection the third day after his death on the cross (Luke 24:6,39), returned to Heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father as our Great High Priest, Mediator, Lord and Savior. (John 16:28; Mark 16: 19; 1 Timothy 2:5)

4. THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that Christians receive the Holy Spirit at salvation and He indwells them and is their constant source of strength and power (1 Cor. 12:13; Romans 8:9-11; John 14:17; 1 Cor. 3:16; Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit possesses the attributes and deity of God, is a Person of the Godhead, He is God (Heb 9:14; 1 Cor. 2:10); Luke 1:35; Psalms 139:7-10; Matt 28:19; Acts 5:3; 2 Cor. 3:17; 1 Cor. 2:11). We believe the Holy Spirit convicts and regenerates the sinner to salvation (John 16:8-11; John 3:5). He guides the believer in his life and anoints him for service (John 16:13; Acts 13:2; Zech 4:6; Rom 8:13).

5. THE FALL OF MAN

We believe God created man in the image of God (Gen 1:26); that through Adam's disobedience all are born sinful (Psa. 51:1-5) and therefore are condemned to Hell.

6. SATAN

We believe Satan is a created being who is the father of sin and the enemy of God and mankind (I Peter 5:8-9; James 4:7).

7. SALVATION

We believe all can be saved (1 Tim 2:4) through the work of the Holy Spirit (John 3:1-8; 16:8) and God's Word (John 5:24). Man must believe that he is a lost sinner (Rom 3:23; 6:23), believe Jesus died for his sins (Rom 5:8), repent of his / her sins (Luke 13:3; 18:13), and experience the new birth by faith (John 3:3, 4; Rom 10:13; John 1:12; Eph 2:8-9).

8. SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER

We believe once saved always saved (Eph 4:30; John 10:27-30; Jude 24; John 3:16).

9. HEAVEN AND HELL

We believe that the soul and spirit of man lives on after physical death either in the literal, eternal Heaven (2 Cor. 5:8) or the literal, eternal Hell (Luke 16:22-26).

10. RESURRECTIONS

We believe in the resurrection of God's children unto life eternal at the rapture of the church (1 Cor. 15:51-53) and the resurrection of the lost unto damnation at the end of the one thousand year reign (Rev 20:11-15).

11. THE RAPTURE AND THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

We believe in the personal, imminent (any moment) return of Christ for His Children (1 Thes. 4:13-18). This will be followed by the seven year tribulation (1 Thes. 1: 10), the second coming of Christ to the earth (Rev 19:11-21), one thousand year reign (Rev 20:1-3), and the new eternal heaven and earth (Rev 21-22).

12. THE JUDGMENT DAYS

We believe the Christian's works are judged for rewards after the Rapture at the Judgment Seat of Christ (2 Cor. 5: 10; 1 Cor. 3: 11-15) and the unsaved man's sins are judged for degrees of punishment in the Lake of Fire after the one thousand year reign at the Great White Throne Judgment (Rev 20: 11-12).

13. THE GIFT OF TONGUES AND PROPHECIES

We believe these gifts were temporary sign gifts for the lost people of Israel (1 Cor. 14:22) and were given to spread the Gospel message in all languages (Acts 1:8; 2:1-8). We believe these gifts have ceased since the completion of the Word of God (1 Cor. 13:8-1 0).

14. SEPARATION

We believe in separation from Liberals, Modernists, National and World Council of Churches, the modern tongues movement and all evil works of darkness (2 Cor. 6: 14-18; 2 John 10:11; Eph 5:11; 2 Thes 3:6,14).

15. BAPTISM AND THE LORD'S SUPPER

We believe in two church ordinances. The first is water Baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to picture the believer's faith in the death, burial, and the resurrection of Christ (Matt 3:16; 28:19; Rom 6:4). The second is the Lord's Supper which is taken by obedient believers with bread and juice of the vine to commemorate the death of Christ on the cross (1 Cor. 11:23-32).

16. THE LOCAL VISIBLE CHURCH MINISTRY

We believe the local church is to be an independent (free from outside interference) congregation of baptized believers (Acts 2:41).

We believe the local body of believers should be careful to show forth Christian love (John 13:34) and holy living (l Thes. 5:22), to pray for each other (Eph 6:18), to be faithful in worship (Heb 10:25); to support the local church with tithes and offerings (l Cor. 16:1-2; Mal 3:8-10), to show forth loyalty and respect to the Pastor for his “work’s sake” (1 Tim 5:19; 1 Thes. 5:12-13; Heb 13:7, 17.

We believe the local church should go into the entire world to preach the Gospel message by sending out missionaries at home and abroad (Matt 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).

17. CREATION

We believe in the Genesis account of creation, that it is to be accepted literally, and not allegorically or figuratively and that God created the world in six literal twenty-four hour days. We believe that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His own likeness, and that man’s creation was not a matter of evolution or evolutionary change of species, or developments through interminable periods from lower to higher forms. We believe that all animal and vegetable life were made directly, and God’s established law was that they should bring forth only “after their kind.”

18. SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS

We believe that the Bible specifically places man and woman in a biblical, God commanded relationship and that God instituted the marriage relationship between one man and one woman (Gen. 2:23, Eph. 5: 22-23), thus, created a model for the biblical family. We further believe that it is God’s design for the sexual relationship to exist exclusively within the context of marriage. We, therefore, hold that it is totally against the command and teaching of the Word of God to change in any way or pervert this order. Thus, we conclude that homosexuality, lesbianism, premarital sexual relationships, adulterous relationships and all other relationships that are contrary to the Word of God are not acceptable as “alternate” lifestyles (Romans 1:18-32).

19. THE SANCTITY OF LIFE

We believe that the Scriptures teach that all human life begins at conception (Jer. 1:5; Ps. 51:5; Luke 1:39-44) and that God is fashioning that life throughout the period of pregnancy (Ps 139). The Bible places dignity upon the human life because man is created in the image of God (Gen. 1:26-27). Therefore, we believe that any form of abortion and any form of euthanasia are violations of the sanctity of life and the standard of God and that all life is sacred from conception to death.
